Property of The Week: Doctor Strange’s Apartment.

This weeks Property of The Week is as magical as its owner.

We finally watched the successful Marvel film Doctor Strange here at The New Gentleman (I know we are a couple of months late). Whilst the Inception influenced special effects were mesmerising, we were particularly  intrigued by the apartment of Doctor Strange.

Whilst Strange’s Flatiron apartment is as fictional as his magic, there is however, a real version of his his penthouse. According to 6sqft  the full-floor unit, known as Penthouse One, boasts 4,841 square feet of interior space and 541 square feet of outdoor terraces and is just one of two remaining homes at the 13-unit project comprised of four penthouses designed by Beyer Blinder Belle.

Like Strange’s perch this penthouse has the same high-ceilinged open space layout we love so much, walls of floor-to-ceiling windows and solid oak hardwood floors. Also, the folding glass terrace doors allow the neighborhood’s timeless atmosphere to flow inside, and a dramatic bio-fuel fireplace anchors the living area.

You will only find premium appliance in the kitchen, a custom 10.5-foot-long marble island, and a concealed butler’s pantry. There is four bedrooms, each with their own en-suite baths. The master suite can be found in the west wing of the apartment, in the master bedroom you can find dual walk-in closet which can house anyone’s collection of suits. The master bedroom also has a five-fixture master bath with a freestanding LaCava tub and radiant heated floors. You can only enter the apartment through private key-in access.

Amenities at 21W20 include a 24-hour doorman, private lobby lounge with kitchenette, an outdoor garden, refrigerated storage for grocery deliveries and private storage spaces available for purchase. Also provided is a secure elevator-accessed bicycle storage, large capacity washer and dryer and a pet wash room.

If you have $13.5 million to spare, you can find yourself living the life of Doctor Strange minus the magic and crippled hands.
