Not many companies get to celebrate a 280th anniversary, especially a luxury watch maker. Jaquet Droz have not let mortality or any recession bring them down.
To celebrate over three centuries in the business, Jaquet have dropped a new yellow gold watch.
The Grande Second Tribute will see a limited run of just 88 models with a stunning yellow gold case and an incredible Grand Feu. Jaquet have plenty to boast about, as with this piece they show off a uniform ivory tone which very few watchmakers can say they have mastered — enamel dial.
The dial is easily the most striking feature of the watch is the dial which borrows from the original created by Pierre Jaquet-Droz. The hours and minutes counter at 12 o’clock switching gracefully between Roman numerals and Arabic indicators.
Once you look past the dial, the true workmanship on the watch reveals itself, the hand assembled Calibre 2663 offers beauty and precision. The self-winding movement movement has a 68-hour power reserve and you can ogle at it through the sapphire case back.
This is a watch that can be enjoyed at any angle, all this proves even after 280 years, Jaquet Droz are still innovating, advancing and flourishing with their watchmaking.
