This article is not here to defend or chastise Jeremy Corbyn.
If the media and Conservative party knew in Jeremy Corbyn was a man who was a full-fledged anti-Semite. Why did all this ‘new’ information not surface during the campaign trail?
I remember now… They were too busy trying to paint him as an IRA and Jihadi supporter.
In fact we wrote an article title The Greatest Political Witchhunt in British history. An Independent report showed that 75% of press coverage misrepresented Jeremy Corbyn, furthermore, the report said “The Daily Telegraph, The Daily Express or The Sun, between 15 and 20 per cent of their Corbyn-related coverage associates him with IRA, Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah and/or terrorism”.
I’m not a conspiracy theorist but when the right-wing controlled UK press all hammer one person with accusation after accusation, I get suspicious.
The media has tried everything, to convince the masses Corbyn is dangerous to England.
A Corbyn government would destroy the economy they warned us.
That didn’t work, Labour gained seats in the General Election.
He’s a terrorist sympathiser they said.
The people laughed at this hypocrisy on account of the government providing Saudi Arabia with arms to bomb Yemen.
He’s a Communist they said.
“I’m literally a Communist” his followers shouted.
Now the label they have tried to pin on Corbyn is anti-Semitism and this might just be the one.
When Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu weighed in via Twitter Monday night, declaring that Corbyn’s actions deserve “unequivocal condemnation,” it was an unmistakable sign that the scandal had mushroomed into the global sphere. The anti-Semite row has been successful people haven’t been talking about Theresa May’s Brexit turmoil, everyone is busy arguing over whether Corbyn is an anti-Semite. All you budding Alastair Campbell’s take note, this is a masterclass in divide and conquer.
However, we can’t just blame the media no matter how bias, if Corbyn had not been present a wreath laying ceremony for Palestinians thought to be connected to Black September, the Daily Mail would have no story. Regardless of his intentions, such optics can only be framed one way. It also doesn’t help when Ken Livingstone who is one of Corbyn’s most ardent supporters gets on the radio to defend Naz Shah’s anti-Semitic comments by bringing up Hitler in a positive light.
Do you think Corbyn is an unapologetic anti-Semite? Or do you think the media is trying to deflect?
