Yacht Of The Week: Mr Loui.

Benneti’s Mr Loui yacht is their attempt to offer a new modern yacht that encapsulates the greatness of the classic series.

To achieve this, designer Giorgio Cassetta was brought in to create a new modern appeal to the once traditional look of previous versions by the Italian giant.  The end result is a curvy, sculpted yacht with open spaces.

You can try all you want, but, you will fail to find  a 35.5-metre motor yacht with more sundeck areas than the Mr Loui.

On the Mr Loui, outdoor living is the focus, so we recommend you charter this yacht in the Mediterranean during summer.

Guest have 80 square meters of living space, you can have lunch at the 12-seater dining table with the family or you can kick back with a cocktail at the Stonetop bar.

Even though the focus is on the exterior, the interior hasn’t been ignored. Ezequiel Farca  was recruited by Benetti’s interior department, he focused on crating an open and uncluttered space that would be comfortable to live in for long periods.

Warm materials like soft leather and dark woods are used in contrast to cold lighting and elements of glass and marble for that modern effect.

If you have ever built or have been commissioned to built a superyacht, the addition of an elevator once you have already come up with the plan for the yacht, can throw a wrench into proceedings.

But silver linings, Mr Loui has an elevator that serves the three interior decks. This layout means there four cabin, two of which VIP inward facing suites and the other two are doubles.

Tow of the suites are each fitted with a Pullman berth that takes the total overnight guests on board up to 12.

The master bedroom comes with large-glazed windows on each side of the cabin, with each window coming to  3.4 metres in length.

The ensuite bathroom of the master stateroom features a central shower along with his and hers basin areas, all decorated in the same minimalist style found throughout the rest of the yacht.

And here are the numbers for the engineers…

Mr Loui is powered by two CAT ACER C32 Rating D engines, each delivering 1,600 hp. Top speed is reached at 15 knots with a cruising speed of about 14 knots. The yacht’s range at a speed of 10 knots is 3,000 nautical miles.
